Four committees support the work of the CCIUCN and joining one is a great way to contribute to the operations and vision of the CCIUCN and meet fellow members. You can reach out to the Chair(s) of any committee to learn more about their priorities for the year and how you might be able to get involved. Joining a committee is a wonderful way to more consistently engage – and build community – with the CCIUCN outside of Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and the IUCN World Conservation Congress.

Communications & Engagement Committee
Chair: Kate Le Souef
What they do: Develop strategies and actions that help the CCIUCN work towards communications-related goals such as helping Canadians get involved in the IUCN, by coordinating and updating website content, creating outreach materials to engage all CCIUCN members and Canadians at large, and promoting the work of the IUCN in Canada.
Indigenous Committee
Chair: Eli Enns
What they do: Seek to increase Indigenous membership on the CCIUCN by focusing on initiatives of great relevance to Indigenous communities (e.g., IPCAs) and nurturing partnerships with Indigenous-led organizations who are leading the way on conservation in Canada.
Young Professionals Committee
Chair: Shuya Huang
What they do: Represent a youth perspective within CCIUCN and run the Youth Ambassador program as well as maintain meaningful contact with past cohorts of the program to build a community of young conservation leaders, and ensure youth priorities inform the activities of the CCIUCN.
Membership Committee
Chair: James Bartram
What they do: Innovate strategies for recruiting new members and build partnerships with existing members and organizations to widen the CCIUCN network and reach.
